Thomas L. Avrutis

Mr. Avrutis is an attorney with his practice focusing on debtor / collector law,

and has handled collection cases throughout Florida for over 30 years. Mr. Avrutis obtained his Bachelor’s degree and law degree from the University of Florida, and graduated Phi Beta Kappa with high honors. He has been a presenter for a statewide convention of County Court Judges, local bar associations, and numerous businesses on consumer and commercial collections.

He authored a collections chapter in the Creditors and Debtors Practice

Manualfor the Florida Bar Continuing Legal Education section, and represents financial institutions, hospitals, insurance companies, debt buyers and businesses regarding their collection matters. He was the presenter for a Florida Bar approved Continuing Legal Education Seminar on the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act for attorneys and collection agencies and the presenter for a seminar entitled “Enforcement of Judgments in Florida” for the Sarasota County Bar Association.
